Kid606 1979年ヴェネズエラのカラカスに生まれる。10代半ばより友達の紹介でノイズ、アヴァンギャルド・レーベルVinyl Communicationsで働きながら楽曲製作を開始。そのころ発表されたものはノイズ、ハードコア色の強い作品がほとんどだったが、 2000年にマイク・パットン主催レーベルIpecacから[ Dawn With The Scene ]、その翌年にドイツのmille plateauxから[ ps i love you ]を発表し、突然変異を起こす。それらは、アンビエント(?)〜エレクトロニカ(?)〜ハウス(?)〜ヒップホップ(?)〜ハードコア(?)などと多岐に渡りながらも、破壊的と言えるほどに型に捕われず、より新鮮な解釈をダンスミュージック・シーンに与え、多数のフォロワーを産み出す事になった。日本ではROMZからこれまで[ kill sound before sound kills you ]、[ who still kill sound? ]、[ resilience ]と、3枚のアルバムをリリース。2000年初頭にカリフォルニア州サンフランシスコでレーベル[ Tigerbeat6 ]をスタートし、自身はもちろんDJ/Rupture、Lesser、Cex、Electric Company、Black Dice、Drop The Lime、COM.A、Knifehandchop、Original Hamster 、Numbersなど強烈な個性を持つアーティストをリリースし続ける。近年、レーベルの活動拠点をドイツ・ベルリンに移す。時を同じくして、サブ・レーベル[ Tigerbass ]をスタートさせ、ボルチモア・ブレイクスやレイヴ・リヴァイバル、フィジェット／ベースライン・ハウス系や、スクイー、ファンキーなどのような日々更新される種の音楽を12inchシリーズでリリースしている。そして、それらTigerbassでの活動が集約されたかのような、最新型ダンスミュージックが全編で展開し、現代のポップカルチャーからの視点で通過させ、Kid606ならではの破天荒で型破りなサウンドへと昇華させた待望のフルアルバム[ SHOUT AT THE DONNER ]を2009年5月2日にROMZからリリース！
